The soupy days on the marshes in Coastal Georgia are wonderful to paint in watercolors on damp paper. I like to use granulating paints, allowing them to melt into each other to capture the strange light one sees on a grey day on the salt marsh. This plein air painting was created on Jekyll Island, GA, as the tide was coming in.
