Awe Beneath Steel Bridge

When I walked down between the redwoods at Nisene Marks State Park near Santa Cruz to the ravine at the Aptos River I was stunned in awe at the scale and the imposing rock walls towering above to the steel bridge spanning the cliffs . The scene was bathed in November light and the big leaves of the Sycamores descended continually down from above throughout my 3 hrs of painting . 24 kids, teachers and parents had linch and a class during my time there which filled the place with joy. It was one of those special plein air moments .
