I recently visited my father-in-law in September out in Oceanside, California. My wife had not see her father since the pandemic started and we live in Oklahoma. So we made a long road trip out there and I painted along the way. When we arrived I couldn't get over the lush vegetation, including the fruit trees...avocados, pomelos, limes and lemons. The lemon tree caught my attention. This was my first "large painting". I am new to oil painting and have been painting on 4"x6" panels up until then. I wanted to see how I handled something larger. It started off really good and then it started slipping away from me. It was a goat rodeo but I was able to wrangle it back in, surprisingly. The final results I am VERY proud of and wanted to see what would happen if I entered it into the salon. Another first. Thanks for the opportunity to share my work.
