Evening Splendor at Sparks Lake

This was based on a very last-minute plein air study I painted quickly after everyone one else in my local plein air group had left. The descending evening light was too brilliant to pass up. Although it was the first day of summer, it was freezing, which probably forced me to get it done faster than I usually work. This larger version was completed in the studio very soon afterward.
