Doorways poetically welcome us throughout Tuscany. I'm drawn to the effort people make to create something beautiful in small spaces to let you know they care and welcome your appreciation. This watercolor celebrates the aged walls and doorway with the new life below it - a contrast of old and new. I utilized many of the Daniel Smith granulated watercolors and layered on my colors with brushwork and splattering.
