Autumn View from the Stone Barn Field

Known as the Stone Barn Farm, this is a view from one of my favorite places to walk on Mount Desert Island, Maine. Fortunately, the property is now under conservation by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, so the land will remain open for public use. The old barns, distant mountains, vibrant autumn colors, sunlight and cast shadows all conspired for one great composition and inspiration! Painted on stretched linen.
