Is this a real thing or is this a fantasy?

This painting is part of a series I didn't know I was creating about children becoming aware of life and the society of humans. Their questions, confusion and struggle to make sense of it all. It stems, I believe, from a revelation I had when my aunt told me that I had an invisible friend as a small child. I was surprised and dismayed that I couldn't remember this friendship.
